It’s Time to Start a Revival—From Gardens to DIY!
At Rooted Revival, we believe that everyone has the right to a healthier, more natural lifestyle, whether it’s through growing your own food, diving into DIY projects, raising happy livestock, or mastering food preservation. We’re here to help you live simply, embrace off-grid living, and create a homestead that’s as beautiful as it is functional.
Our mission goes beyond just growing food. We’re dedicated to helping you design stunning gardens, tackle hands-on DIY projects, care for your animals, and preserve the bounty of your harvest—all while fostering a deeper connection with the earth. Now, more than ever, we need a revival of sustainable living practices that are rooted in both tradition and innovation.
Who Are We
Rooted Revival is more than just a blog—it’s a thriving community brought to life by a well-assembled team of passionate homesteaders and experts. Let’s take you through our journey:
- 2015: Rooted Revival was founded by Kaylee Vaughn, a dedicated homesteader, permaculturist, and homegrown food fanatic. Kaylee, alongside her wife Lindy, started their journey on a micro-homestead in Idaho, transforming an unloved and overgrown property into a productive haven. They learned invaluable lessons that shaped the foundation of Rooted Revival. Here are just some of the highlights:
- 2020: The journey continued as Kaylee and Lindy packed up and moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Here, they began creating the 2-acre permaculture homestead of their dreams, embracing new challenges and expanding their knowledge.
- 2023: Kaylee handed over the Rooted Revival project to a new team but continued to live her beloved lifestyle away from the public gaze. The website continued to flourish under the guidance of new voices and perspectives.
- 2024: Rooted Revival underwent an exciting rebranding to become even more comprehensive, welcoming experienced authors to the team. With expanded topics and a fresh new touch, Rooted Revival is now your go-to resource for everything from DIY projects and garden design to off-grid living and food preservation.
We’re not just traditional homesteaders. We’re part of a new millennium of homesteaders, re-wilders, urban farmers, and holistic hippies who are changing the way our culture views our relationship with nature. And Rooted Revival is dedicated to helping you do the same—to create the garden and homestead of your dreams!

I love your homestead binder – this is my 3rd year using it! Wondering if you might consider adding a pig 1st aid page? I’d love to make my first aid box extra cute!
